Over 21 to Purchase

"Very good animation indeed..."

date: July 15, 2007

the rating categories really needs a "content", because i thought the whole point of this movie lacked not only clarity, but purpose. It was simply a movie or rage, there was no underlining satire that you probably should have had.
So fair enough, not every movie requires submeaning, but I just felt the whole morality of this movie showed nothing but gratuitous violence towards a shopkeeper who has nothing to do with the law, he just follows it.
The anger of this movie is appropriate to your message, but should have been directed at someone more at fault.

Good attempt, but I know you can do better.

Animation was clear, sometimes lacking in texture or lacking in amount, but for the most it was happy and bright.
However, these bright colours make no sense for the type of movie this was.

Needs thought.

Author's Response:

interesting what you say but what it is that i if i went for a scary dood then it would have been too predictable and in this day and age in horror movies and stuff it is too predicable so sorry for trying something new but i guess story plotting ishnt my thing

Sprite TV!

"great but!"

submission: Sprite TV!

What was that version of the beatles song at the end? Can you send be a copy? I know its name, I cant find that version of it.

The lack of music credits was depressing.
I notched you down three marks because of it, but I'll vote five anyway if you tell me where to get a copy of that :)

good job anyway, guys, you are awesome.

Mouse Evader

"A supoib job!"

submission: Mouse Evader
date: May 15, 2007

I am a HUGE lover of mouse-avoider games (I am the creator of 'Overhead Persistence'). At some parts the cursor was hard to see (i.e. lvl 4), but overall, you've put time and dedication into really blowing simplicity out of proportion. Try out my game if you havent to get some ideas for a sequel.
There are moments of genius (i.e. lvl 6), and I would advise a sequel to make an appearence soon!

Author's Response:

Hey! I've played one of your games!

We haven't decided on a sequel, partly due the fact that mouse avoider games don't seem to get too much attention any more.

Thanks for reviewing!

Cursor Mayhem

"6th review! I think..."

submission: Cursor Mayhem
date: March 17, 2007

This game had great potential. I am the creator of OVERHEAD: PERSISTENCE. If you somehow havent seen it, see it now! It will give you some great ideas if you want to make a sequel ;)
Im one of those people who see the beauty of mouse moving games, but I'm afraid this is one of the few that just didnt feed my apetite. Going back to the beginning every time is mean. You can cheat as well (which is frowned apon generally by users), so try to avoid that. Colour would be brilliant.
I have a feeling this series could go somewhere. Sorry for this negative review, but I am positive you can get somewhere ;)

Author's Response:

Thank you for your in depth review. In Cursor Mayhem II I will try and add in some new features :D

KILLROY 10 teaser

"5th review on newgrounds! yay me!"

submission: KILLROY 10 teaser
date: February 4, 2007

I've never watched killroy, and yet I'm saddened it must come to an end.
You used the right choise of music, the right dialogue, good voice acting. I would say this series is fully developed and knows how to grip any audience, and I'm pretty sure the future holds much for you.

Author's Response:

Thanks. And I hope you have the time to see the other episodes so you'll be primed and ready for the finale

"A hard one to review."

submission: :earth:
date: January 28, 2007

You have an interresting perseption on life. I can't help but think it's slightly manipulated by media (with the world falling to pieces by the hands of terrorists). However, i like how you drew the business man pretty much the same as the AK man- some subtle cleverness, even if it was not purposely put in.
What I am trying to say is that this had a lot of meaning, and a lot of effort go into it. I think you have a lot of potential. I'm sure you got an A* well deserved at school.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the helpful review. It's not actually intended as "the world falling to piece by the hands of terrorists", in fact it's the complete opposite: the inevitable death and destruction caused by the "war on terrorism" where ordinary people are shipped off to die for "the cause".

The first scene is intended (however badly or not this was implemented) to show the beginning of mankind. Then we have a town, and the man walks through a rapidly developing city with his briefcase. Then we show the gun for the first time, and we soon have the propaganda-ish monotone man running into battle with the gun, leading to the destruction of the city, and civilisation as we know it (inluding the death of the man himself, representing the death of humanity). We zoom out and the Earth is unchanged.

In retrospect maybe the AK47 was a bad choice of weapon, as this is generally associated with terrorists, but that wasn't really its intention.

Anyway, thanks again, I'm glad you recognised some of the intended meaning.

-=STEALTH=- [X-MAS]

"My third review."

date: December 14, 2006

With such an interesting game, and the promise of a reply, I could not pass by and not leave a review.

My third review is exciting, but I also plan to go slightly in-depth with what makes this game so great. It personally relates to me (notice the personal) because of its theme. I just love simplicity, and I love the nature of stealth. I loved the Thief series, and it is slightly reminiscent, along with 'the classroom' and 'overhead' and other flash games 'n all. It's just so interesting to see this. I also loved the idea of different stage separation by different landscapes. I'm a big fan of all of that.

Of course technically, although concrete, it has its weaknesses. It is unvaried, and the name "stealth" is an exaduration, since you can go willy-nilly through the whole game. Perhaps more interesting guards and a longer game would have gotten you more points. A further suggestion would be improve the designs and drawing. Just putting a bevel on it doesnt make it look natural, nor pretty. Try blurring the bevel, and you will find a much more realistic look i would think :).

I'm not going to blather on, since music was good, a good concept to, but perhaps development is required for the sequel.

REPLY!
and i have high hopes for this series.

Author's Response:

Thank you for the great review!

Yes i'm working on backward movement, and better level design.

Crazy Console Battles!

"2ND review on newgrounds! HIP HIP!"

date: July 30, 2006

And it is aimed at a perfectly executed flash movie! Rocking! I liked this movie. Enough comments, on to the review!

THE GOOD:
Graphics are fantastic!
New idea
good sound fx
hot battle, in general

THE BAD:
Crappy blue background: -2/10
No acutal song- could have livened it up: - 2/10
Er... weird dissapearing characters: - 1/10

THE COMMENTS: Awesome, nice idea, but a bit plain. So music, more variety of background and then your rolling again!
Good luck for the future!
